Yes routine is important. I used to run away from monotonous day but since my life changed (once I quit working for others) everything changed. The routine doesn’t exist anymore. Yes, you do the same things like breakfast but never the same if you see what I mean.
I write but sometimes my writing is in the evening, sometimes in the morning (preferred time) sometimes lunch time. The routine becomes fluid and you still get the work done. I guess that’s what matters. You get things done no matter what time of the day.
Whatever it is fit your writing at any time and it will work. Yes, I agree finding a routine that works for you is another part of writing process. It has to work for you! Enjoy the journey of writing.
