What not to do on a detox
Have you ever done a detox? I have. I have done detoxes every quarter in the past. I felt amazing. However, life happens and I fell of the wagon and now I am back on it. It’s my third day on my four day juice detox. It’s fascinating to see how the body reacts to what you put or don’t in your body. The body is an amazing “equipment” that we have been given. Every part of it works like magic and makes us feel healthy, unhealthy, good, bad and etc. Have you ever noticed that there are bits in your body you don’t like? All the things you don’t like another woman would love to have it. Imagine that? A woman who has birth marks from giving birth hates it, but another would almost do anything to have it. I became more and more aware of my body when I did detoxes and what I said to it. The magical detoxes turned everything around. It’s amazing how it makes you love your body more and more each time you do it.
Stop hating a body part
I used to say terrible things to my body. It was negative. It didn’t feel great. It made me feel terrible. Slowly I learned not to say terrible things about my thighs or my stomach. I felt better. My body suddenly started to react to the positive messages. It’s fascinating how the body actually communicates with the frequencies around us. I was at the acupuncture session the other day. The lady also uses kinesiology techniques. She spoke in Spanish while performing kinesiology and I was thinking to myself, how on earth does my body know Spanish? I am still learning it. Afterwards I asked my therapist and she replied: ‘it’s all unconscious and your body communicates a lot, you have to know how to read it’. That was powerful. Go and send some love to your body! If you hate a part of your body start loving it, and appreciating it, because someone else would love to have what you’ve got.
Do not look at food photos
When you have Instagram, Facebook and other social media platforms it’s hard not to see food. It might be a good idea to have a detox from your phone too! Food images just make you want to eat and you are only on your juice. While the juice give you nourishing things to your body, you do feel hungry on certain times of the day. Food images just make it worse. Detox from the devices can also be beneficial. Spend less time on social media platforms and do something that you generally don’t have the time for. I use this time to go for a longer run and walks in the mountain and write more. What would you do more if you spend less time on social media?
Don’t spend time in places where there’s food
Ideally you’d keep a good distance from the eating crowds. I know it’s hard to do that. If you live in a city you are bound to pass by a restaurant and see people eating. You smell the food in the air. I look at them feel so sorry for myself as I have a few more days to go on my juice detox. If you necessarily have to pass by the eateries you should do what I did. I smelled the air and imagine I am eating. The smell of food was enough. However, then I saw what people were eating and I thought, thank god I am not eating it! All I saw what terrible things they were consuming and they have no idea what the fried chicken is going to do to their body! The sugar in the chocolate is just sending them to death. I immediately felt better. However, not many people know the food they eat is destroying their body. The food can either help you or destroy you.
Why does anyone do a detox? Purely for a simple reason get your digestive system a rest. I would suggest to anyone doing a detox but doing it safe.
