Real Friendships are Full of Unconditional Love

I grew up with my best friend. We were inseparable. My cousin and I are the same age. What interests me interested her. We were competing against each other who will read more books in the summer. When we were growing up we didn’t have the big thing called internet and it was fun. Because we didn’t know what internet could do for us then.
We used to ride our bikes to the lake, eat ice-cream in the town and dream big. The childhood and teenage years were simply magical. We had each other. We were each other’s rocks. We did everything together. I mean everything together. All school holidays together, summer holidays involved us travelling to somewhere beautiful by the sea. It was the best part of the summer. The sea, the books and us together.
Then we grew up. Life changed and so did we. We found other friends. We moved on. Friends we met at University; friends we met at work; friends we met at events we went to; friends we met through other friends and so on. I started travelling and living abroad. Suddenly the whole world became a lot more smaller. I have friends from Czech Republic, Slovakia, South Africa, New Zealand, Italy, Iceland, Sicily, Spain and so on.
Friends from boarding school became friends for life. I often end up watching peoples lives on social media. It’s not the same as picking up a phone but it does make me feel a little closer to few I don’t see or speak every day. Others, are a phone call away and it’s magic when I speak to them from first instance.
Ex boyfriends became friends. The sign that we are civil with each other. Friends who know a lot about each other and try to keep a safe distance. Sometimes seeing life events on social media with mix feelings of bitter sweet. Nevertheless wishing all the best knowing that right now I have the best.
Most of my multicultural friendship are made in London. I often used to feel I am standing in a station of some kind and have limited time with every new friend. Sometimes I would spend a few years of friendship sometimes a few months and we move on. However, some of these friendship from the imaginary station became and are friends for life.
Friends for life from all walks of life and no matter how much time we had spend together we will always be friends. What does being friends mean? It’s not jealousy. It’s not being happy when your friend is not doing well. Being friends is an unconditional love to another human being and not only wishing success for them but also being there for them when they need you. It’s not just words of kindness but actions of kindness.
I am lucky to say I have few amazing friends in my life. Friendships that no matter what will always be special, unique, authentic and full of magic. The magic of unconditional love. I know unconditional love is known to be amongst parents and their children but some friendships are full of unconditional love. I wish everyone in the world to have friendships of unconditional love.
