Life in Colour has never been so Sweet

My husband and I decided to live in Spain two years ago. We have been moving around Europe a bit but our home is Spain. We now finally got back home to Spain after a little travel. I cannot tell you, how wonderful and sweet life is in a small town called Miraflores de la Sierra. It’s a home for golden eagles! I have seen an eagle decent from the sky to catch its food while writing! What a magical site was that!
There’s plenty of time — mañana
In Spain there’s plenty of time or so it seems. I love how people don’t rush. After London this life seems a bliss. It’s too hot to walk super fast. It’s too hot to be mean. People are relaxed even the estate agents. I am used to the estate agents to chase me and call me repeatedly until I finally tell them to stop. Here I am doing all the chasing! However, they make money off me if they sell or rent me something, right?
The attitude here is relaxed. Everyone needs money but I’ve never seen such a relaxed way about it. The priorities are the family, food and then work, however, when they work they really work really hard. From 2pm until 5.30pm is siesta lunch or whatever you want to call it. They’ve got their priorities right!
There’s plenty of sunshine
Spain is not short of sunshine. I was diagnosed deficiency of vitamin D after living over 15 years in London. I need sun. Thank goodness I am in the place where the sun is always shining. I love heat and sun. We are in the town up in the mountains above sea level over 1100 meters. The temperature here is 6 degrees less than Madrid city. I don’t know how I would survive the heat without the pool!
My lunch break and evenings contain of a swim in the pool. It’s a must refresh. I also have a proper mountain hike to get to the shop. It’s great by the time I get to the shop I am in a rain of sweat. At least I got two birds with one stone — shopping and a work out! It goes without saying the views are breathtaking!

There’s plenty of a bikini time
My main outfit these days is a bikini. Thank goodness I have a few to change things up a bit. I am writing this and a sweat is slowly going down my back….I cannot wait to jump into the pool and read a good book. I love James Lee Burke writing even though he writes about true nature of the Americans in his novels.
Most important is I can get on my bike and cycle down the mountain with the sun and wind in my face and feel as free as one can feel. That to me is worth more than millions of money earned in London. That feeling no-one can buy or replicate it can only be felt, lived and recognised. I don’t mean we don’t have our luxuries — we do!
We have a pool, mountains, fresh air and our health! That’s the biggest wealth one can have. Anything else it’s secondary! We came here to live longer and live a life in colour not suffer in the cold and windy island with one of the worst life expectancies in the world. We have a plan not only for ourselves but to make the world a better place too.
What are your plans and how do you choose to live? My choice is life in colour.
