How to Use Words to Create a Better Day for yourself

The power of language we use every day

Language and words are important.

What we say out loud has frequency and sets the tone. Think of the birds when they sing they create a frequency in the world. How they do it is a mystery to me! Only God can create this beauty human mind cannot explain. Apparently scientists cannot explain how birds sing in a certain beat!

A language shapes the way people perceive the world and it also helps to define culture of any society. It forms our views, beliefs and how people act. I speak a few languages and there’s a huge difference between languages and communication. For example, when I speak in Russian my tone of voice changes even my posture changes.

When I speak in Spanish my tone of voice is different to when I speak in Russian, or indeed, English. Certain words or certain way of speaking can change drastically whether it’s formal or informal way of speaking too. Just because I change a language everything changes not only formal and informal way of speaking but also the body language and my tone of voice!

“…in aesthetic discussion is to know whether words are being used according to the literary tradition or according to the tradition of the marketplace.” James Joyce, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man

The words we use states our education level too. The more words you know the higher the intellect. I am not sure how scientific the statement is. Some people may not have had high eduction but they are intellectual. Same goes as to how many books one reads and how one expresses oneself. However, the words we use is powerful and it doesn’t matter on the education level.

Looking back at history there’s huge culture difference on the language and reading too. If one is to look back at the renaissance period people were illiterate only a few had a privilege of some kind of education. If one is to look at Islamic religion it encourages people to read and write.

When London and Paris were in mud the Spanish Moores (Islamic Spain) were the first in education and had highest amount of libraries in Europe at that time.

In order to communicate we as human beings use words. Those words have huge power. However, one can argue a human being can speak without learning to read and write. True. Learning to speak is different to using the language one’s benefit. Human beings are unique in one way that they learn a language as a form of communication.

“We must all be alike. Not everyone is born free and equal, as the Constitution says, but everyone is made equal.” Ray Bradbury Fahrenheit 451

Language makes everyone equal just the level of communication makes people unequal. The words matter. What words one uses sets the tone for the rest hour, day and even a week. For instance, if I say I am not feeling well, I am bored, I am angry, sad or whatever other negative thing. I will feel negative if not for the next hour for the rest of the day or even a week.

If, however, one uses positive, happy language one will feel happy and positive for however long. There’s a saying ‘once a word is spoken you cannot get it back.’ If you say something bad about someone you cannot get those words back — it’s done it’s been said. Describing someone is how you see yourself. For example, if I am asked to say something about someone.

It hugely reflects on how I am as a person. If I say this person is bad, looks terrible has bad this and that it says a lot about me not about the person I am describing. Same goes when I say something nice about that person; that person is amazing, beautiful wonderful. We describe what see in ourselves when we talk of others — others are reflection of ourselves.

We all have a choice what words we use and how we use them. Let’s not use the words that make us feel bad let’s use the words that make us feel good. Let’s use the words to learn and improve. Let’s use a language to teach us about other culture and history. Let’s use the powerful words because the world is a vibration. Let’s create a world full of happy and love vibrations.

Love and Light.
