How to Unlearn Limiting Beliefs and Achieve Anything you Desire

We all have dreams. Dreams of finding the best partner. Dreams of getting the best job. Dreams of having a perfect home. Dreams of having perfect friends. Dreams of having perfect family. Some things we all want to have such as love, fulfilling jobs, partners, family and homes are universal. However, what stops us achieving what we would love?
We, as human beings, want to have what we perceive is going to be our dreams and fulfil those dreams. I often sabotage myself in achieving things I would love to have. For instance, I would be in a job I absolutely hate for years. I would complain but wouldn’t do anything about it. Sure, I might look for another job but that’s a massive effort.
Sometimes it’s just easier to sit and complain about current situation. It’s sad! I see people who spend their lives complaining and not actually doing anything about it. I see people who are afraid to try new things and just go for it. I met people who have a defeatist attitude. They would rather deconstruct themselves with a glass of aperol spritz than try a new business venture.
They tend to live in a vicious circle of how wonderful would that be and then pick up another huge glass of aperol spritz. By the time the drink is over they have forgotten what they thought of doing in a first place. The reasons for having a happy hour drink increases because I start feeling sorry for myself because I couldn’t do this business venture.
After a few more drinks I become merry and feel happy for a few magical seconds. The world is good again while the liquid of “happiness” filling me up with distorted visions of the world. For those few good seconds, I feel invisible and I can rule the world. This “vision” disappears with a massive hangover and then I have to take care of the headache not of what I was going to do the next day.
I destroy any possible future opportunities because obviously I am busy getting rid of my head pain. And this circle continues until I die. I do know someone who drank herself to death. It’s not a joke. Sad thing really. A lady who had all the opportunities in life destroyed herself with alcohol. She wasn’t able to stop. The doctors told her if she carried on drinking she will die.
Alcoholism is a real illness. People die from it. However, one wouldn’t think it walking around London. Pubs are heaving with people standing outside and drinking pint after pint three or four nights a week. It’s a norm!
In order to overcome the limiting beliefs it requires hard work. People have to want to change their lives. First and foremost, there’s always the right time which is now.
Anyone can pick themselves up and start changing.
The best way to start is to change one tiny detail in your life. Start with maybe getting up early and do some yoga for 30 days or whatever that may be.
Secondly, one needs to stop complaining and take some action. Whatever bothers you instead of talking about it take a step to change it. Look for a new job, learn a new skill, create a plan and action it.
Most important don’t start if you are going to stop.
One has to follow through with this. Give specific actions and outcomes with a clear timeline and deadline.
You have lunch at a certain hour so will your new actions are like lunch time. Always there every day without much thinking just action it. Thirdly, instead of enjoying the ‘happy hour’ use that time to implement your new plan. Try something new like a new class in a gym, or go and see a play, or eat the food you wouldn’t do something that gets you out of your comfort zone.
It doesn’t have to be big things little things that’s all it takes.
It’s all about trying something new.
Gaining new experience and making yourself feel, create and live. Fear is a huge thing when I try new things. Fear stops me from doing new things. I know what I like and what I don’t like.
Fear destroys my potential.
I will never get rid of my fear so I have to learn to live with it. The way I deal with it is I have to let the fear be. Let it live with me but don’t action things from fear. I take action from a place of love. It’s important to trust your gut and go with it. Your heart knows what’s right and what isn’t. Learn to listen to it.
Last but not least focus! Have a vision and don’t let go of it until it’s done!
Focus creates your reality.
If you focus on having drinks after work then that’s what you will do. If you focus on your goal or on what you’d like to achieve then that’s what you’ll see at the end.
All dreams can come true. I’ve learned that. The way I got my dreams to become reality is by listening to my heart, stopped hanging around pubs and made changes that made me feel great! The limiting beliefs will always be with me and one will never be able to get rid of them. However, one can learn to overcome them.
Once one gets through the first step of wanting to change, then the steps to taking actions is easy once one sticks to it. Sometimes it’s hard to do things that are good for me because I am used to feeling like a failure but one has to push through by doing something that make you feel good. Do something that makes you feel good and do it as often as you can for a long period of time.
