How to Create a Life you’ve Always Wanted

Simple steps to move forward

There’s no big secret to be honest. Actually it’s very simple. All you have to do is be ready to change, make a plan, be determined, have focus and a belief it will all work out. It’s not a rocket science. However, in a big city it’s easy to get lost. It’s easy to follow the crowd even if you think you are not. Here are my simple ways of creating a life you’ve always wanted.

You’ve got to be ready to change

If you think at the back of your mind that your current life is ok and you are ok with it — the change won’t happen. You won’t feel motivated. You will always find excuses. You will always find a way to stay where you are. No matter what options will be thrown at you you will always see an excuse or a problem or something wrong with it.

When you are ready for the change you will see opportunities and ways to work it out. For example, I wanted to teach English in Italy. I didn’t care where I just wanted to teach English in Italy. I took me six months to find a job. I was fresh out of school so it was harder to get a job. I was determined. I got the job. I lived in Rome. If I hadn’t been ready for a change I could have seen everything as an obstacle. I was ready and everything was an opportunity.

You’ve got be determined

If you made your mind up to change your life and let’s say move to a new city, or create a business or change jobs or whatever that is. You’ve got to be determined to look for a new job, find a job in a different country, or create your business. Rome wasn’t built in a day. So anything new you decide to do it’s going to take time. You’ve got to be ok with it. Because anything good takes time.

You cannot simply expect a new job the next day! You might be lucky to find it super fast but it’s not always the case. When it’s not the case you’ve got to be determined to carry on, do not stop. It’s very easy to get discouraged. For instance, I could have given up hope in finding a job in Italy after three months. I didn’t I kept at it because that’s what I wanted. I made it happen.

Focus is key

People get distracted with things, friends, parties, work, relationship, accommodation problems, you name it any bit of “problem” keeps you out of focus. For example, you want to move a country, you’ve got to make a plan. How are you going to do that? Do you need savings? Do you need to learn a language? Do you need to have a job before you go?

Do you need to find somewhere to stay or you can stay with someone you know? Once you figured out the key questions you then need to focus on executing it. Give yourself a timeline in which you can deliver all of your tasks. Give yourself a timeline that is reasonable it may take you a year or it may take you a few months or it may take you a few years.

It doesn’t matter how long it takes as long as you keep your focus, be determined and you’ll get there. Focus creates your reality so don’t get lost while you are trying to achieve your goals. Have something to remind you of why you are doing what you are doing.

Behave like you’ve already there

You’ve got think what you want it’s already happened and behave like a person who’s got ‘it’. It’s so much easier to behave when it’s already the past of what you always wanted to have. For example, if I am trying to lose weight, I need to exercise eat and sleep well but I also need to behave like I am already in that beautiful body that I’ve always wanted.

It goes for everything in life. What really helps is to have a belief that it will work out. Of course, you have to do some work but while you are working on it you have to have a strong belief that it has already happened or it’s already worked out to be amazing. For example, you want that job in Italy. I have to think I’ve already got the job and behave like I have it. This creates ease when you have interviews.

There’s no magic pill. Just plan it out whatever it is you want to achieve in your life and go and get it. It’s super simple easy and attainable. If you want to move a country I’ve done four times now. It’s not difficult. All it takes, knowing what you want, focus, determination and a belief. Don’t ever think you cannot do it — you can!
