How not to Judge Others and Become Better
Judgement is universal. One can never escape a judgement. You can be rich or poor — no-one will run away from judgement. It’s either you who is judging or you are being judged. It’s conscious or unconscious it’s always there no matter what you do. In Christianity you are taught about judgement. You are afraid of judgment too because you are taught you are always guilty and have to continuously repent.
I am not going into a religious argument here. Maybe another time. What’s interesting how people judge each other. I never know if it comes from their kindness or a darker place. For instance, if I get a good ‘judgement’ from someone does that mean it comes from a good place or a bad one? If it’s a bad judgement of me does it come from a good or bad place? I will never know.
What fascinates me is not to judge someone immediately. When I meet people I never judge them. I am old enough to know not to judge a book by its cover. This allowed me to meet interesting people. People whom become an inseparable part of my life. I met some of my best friends because I didn’t judge them. It’s so easy to brush people off because they don’t fit ‘the look’.
However, a millionaire can dress like a homeless person. I met a famous film director on the corner of the Ritz. He asked me for a lighter. I didn’t have one. However, we started…
