How Hard Work will Give you Passion for Life

I have written an article on You are not Born with a Passion — it’s Chosen where I talk in detail how we earn passion. The idea we are meant to live a better life is often sold to us. We are told we are not living it because we don’t know what our passion is.
‘Live your passion’ sells! Everyone wants to work little and get piles of cash. By buying into the idea of ‘live my passion’ I assume I won’t need to work. I will pursue my passion and do nothing. It looks idealistic and too good to be true. If it looks too good be true it often is. I agree to a certain extent it’s all in our heads. We, human beings, make it all happen or not.
I am in charge of my choices and doing whatever I choose to do in life. If I have an attitude of a victim everything is somebody else’s fault. I am in this job because I have no choice. I am in this relationship because I am afraid of whatever. I am doing x, y and z because I have to. There’s no such thing as “I have to” or “I have no choice”.
It’s all about a choice we make in our lives.
When I pursue “my passion” I have to go through a coaching programme that teaches what “my passion” is. It’s an oxymoron because no-one can teach me what my passion is! The programme I choose is the one that peels off the layers of things I have learned. I have to get to my soul’s purpose to reveal my whole being and find my truth.
I have to get to my heart and soul so I can see my own wonderfulness. I have to see my own gifts and talents from which I can make money. Then, I am told if I don’t follow my heart’s desires I will stay where I am — nowhere. I will be stuck in my 9–5 job and will never live my dreams. It’s a passive aggressive attitude. I have an added pressure to make sure to follow my dreams.
The coaching businesses are cashing in on my anxiety because obviously it’s my fault for not following through with my heart’s desires. I see online how coaches are selling courses by manipulating people. Their courses “unlock” your soul and shows you how easy and free you can be if you just follow my course.
There’s always one thing they tell you, “if you are stuck”, or “feeling low”, or “feeling unfulfilled” — you are not letting your soul to do the job for you. You are not listening to your soul. It’s so much pressure to find your passion. They also tell you it’s going to be scary to do what you love. I am going into this with so much pressure and worry.
Sure, I’ll come up with something and other people will too. The trick is, the things you’ve always wanted to do will be the hardest thing you’ll ever do. However, it’s a wrong way thinking about it. First is hard work then passion. Coaches teaches you the other way around. Why? Because it sells.
The passion isn’t an innate thing, the passion is hard work. First, work hard, create something magical and then launch into the world of wildest possibilities. If I ever chase my passion it’s never long lived venture. If I chase passion it’s never fulfilling and the results are never what I was promised.
What really matters in life is the basics. I know all the coaches talk about how education and school ruin your creativity and kill your passion. However, education matters. All one needs to do is have an education in life, get your university done and do whatever you like afterwards. As long one has the education the basics are done in life. It’s simple.
Education matters not because it gives you a job afterwards but it opens you up, it opens your view of the world and gives you options. That’s more than anyone can give you. Next, is important to have a vision and know ‘where you are going’. For instance, I have to know where I am heading before I set out on my journey. I have to know my goal.
If I have no idea where I am going I am like a wandering leaf I go where the wind blows and not achieving anything. When I am horse riding, if I have no idea where I am going the horse has no idea where to take me. It’s important to know where you are heading no matter what you are doing. You have to have a goal and vision.
Last but not least you have to have focus. However, the focus should be on the right vision or goal. What you are focusing on that’s what your results will be. If your focus is on losing weight only you might shed a few pounds but then it grows back — double! The focus shouldn’t be on losing weight it should be on being healthy.
Instead think of what actions should I take in order to keep myself healthy. The result will be the weight loss and more. Focusing on the right thing will get you to the destination. By having, education, vision — ‘know where you are going’ and having a focus will give you passion that doesn’t disappear. Look at all successful people such as Nadal, Federer and other sports athletes.
They have been training since they were 5 or 6 years old without a fail. Their training has become their passion. This hard work gave them their life’s success, fame and fortune. How much of hard work do you want to put so you can have your passion to bring you what you desire? The question should everyone be asking themselves is
am I committed to achieve my goal?
If I am happy to do it every day without a fail I am going to be successful there’s no other way! Your passion will never disappear if the hard work will come first. Stop worrying about the passion and invest in hard work. The passion you will discover in hard work will be everything and more.
